Wrinkles in Our Sails: Sailing Lingo

The word Bigwig supposedly comes from a nautical origin. Anyone know the story?

Intro

A couple's journey from sailing to cruising.

A sailing adventure begins the minute you think you might want to take off from the shore or your favorite marina and head out into the wild blue of the lakes and oceans. For us, our journey began when we started playing around with a small Barnett Butterfly, basically a plastic bathtub with a stick for a mast. We were hooked immediately. From then on we've spent as much of our time on the water as we could. We’ll share stories from our past and keep you up-to-date on our current adventures aboard our beautiful Island Packet 31 named "Wrinkles".
